Report from the front Lines: Mission Planting in Aledo by St. Paul, Ft. Worth

Is God working in some unique ways at your congregation? E-mail me the story and I will share it as an encouragement to others.

October 23rd is the launch date for the first worship service of "The Summit" a fellowship of St. Paul, Ft. Worth. In preparation for this new satellite mission, 30 small groups met with Pastor John Messman in the spring of 2003. A church planting task force worked from November 2003 through April of 2004. In December of 2004 the congregation approved funding for this multi-site ministry and raised $100,000 through a capital campaign. The Texas District Board of Mission Administration also agreed to invest in this mission planting venture in 2004. A launch team led by Peter Couser began its work in January, 2005.

A site for public worship has been secured at Vandagriff Elementary School in Aledo, 18 miles west of St. Paul's main campus. A significant group of St. Paul members and interested people in the community will make up the initial core at The Summit. This ministry will be served by the staff at St. Paul and will be under St. Paul's budget. The initial two major components of ministry at The Summit will be public worship and small groups. St. Paul has plans for additional mission planting as they pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit in developing multi-site ministry.

Each issue of our E-Letter features a story of one of our Texas District Missionaries. If you would like to cut-and-paste this into your church bulletin or newsletter, feel free! It's a good way to familiarize your members with how their gifts to missions are being used.
