Strategic Visioning Process

Through the Strategic Visioning Process, the congregation is led on a faith journey to prayerfully discern God’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values for the life of that congregation. These three components become the DNA of the congregation’s ministry. Once they are in place, the congregation is led to selecting four critical targets with corresponding desired outcomes, target vision, and finally an action plan to carry out focused ministry efforts.

This process takes 6 to 10 months from an initial Strategic Vision Weekend through final shaping of the ministry plan. An initial presentation to Pastor and congregational leaders is made to determine whether this process is the tool most needed at this time in the life of the congregation. In addition, the process will be adapted and shaped to fit the strategic mapping needs of your congregation.

Congregations involved in this process build a broad-based consensus for future direction of the congregation’s mission so that financial and people resources are aligned with the vision to advance God’s Kingdom in effective ways.

For congregations who have completed such a process in the past several years, Natural Church Development (NCD) is recommended as a way to enhance and address the congregation’s most important needs.
