Crafting Your Personal Witness

This workshop can be done as a “stand alone” event or as a follow-up to “Basic Faith Sharing #101”. In this ½ to ¾ day learning experience, participants will explore:

· God’s plan for personal witness

· How people are best reached with the Gospel

· Engaging in intentional evangelistic prayer

· Intentional relationship building with non-Christian friends, colleagues and acquaintances

· How to describe your own spiritual journey

· Understanding their own Evangelism style

· Learning the 6 – 2 – 6 Technique of Witnessing

· Practicing how to share your faith with those not connected to Jesus.

· How to keep a Spiritual conversation going with a non-Christian for the long term



Basis Faith Sharing #101

Have you avoided talking about Jesus to friends, colleagues, and neighbors because you just didn't know what to say? Have you neglected to invite people to our church because you feared that they might say NO? Have you sidestepped discussions about faith matters because you were worried about what it might do to your relationship with another person? Are one or more of these questions true of you and you would like things to be different?

If you answered YES to any of these questions, "Basic Faith Sharing #101" is a workshop your leaders and members cold benefit from. In this ½ to ¾ day learning experience, participants will explore:

· Understanding our unchurched friends"

· Getting over fear of the "E" word (evangelism)

· Recognizing strategic opportunities in relationships to share Jesus

· Learning how to be a spiritual inviter

· Learning to recognize your own style of witnessing and not feeling guilty about it

· Gaining confidence in inviting people to participate in your church's ministry



Following Jesus into the Mission Field

This workshop engages congregational leaders in exploring what it takes to provide leadership in a vibrant Christ-centered 21st century congregation. Utilizing the work of Bill Easum, leaders work together to learn how to thrive in the Gospel rather than merely survive to live another day as they become more

· Faithful

· Permission-giving

· Servant-empowering

· And constantly innovating outposts of mission

Leaders also assess their own current ministry and learn which “unfreezing moves” would be most important to help the congregation more effectively carry out the Gospel. This workshop is typically a 6 hour experience for staff and congregational leaders.


Ministry in a Post-Modern World: Sharing Our Faith in a Foreign Land

This two hour workshop helps congregations and leaders explore the postmodern mind and how postmodern people explore and deal with spiritual matters. The workshop also helps participants explore 10 “cues” for recognizing and understanding the needs of postmoderns with a corresponding set of 10 “ministry clues” offering touch-points to speak the Gospel into the lives of postmodern people and culture.


Ministry with 5 American Generations

Understanding and ministering to and with the Builder, Silent, Boomer, Survivor, and Millennial generations is presented in this short workshop. Special attention is given to how to minister to the Survivor and Millennial generations.


Lay Mobilization: From First Time Guest to Fully Devoted Follower of Jesus

This ½ day workshop in lay mobilization and assimilation helps leaders do initial exploration to answer the questions:

· What does a first time worship attender need from your church so that they will return?

· How can your church serve as God’s instrument, helping guests move from first time worship attenders to fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ?

· How can your church become pro-active in helping people move from “membership” to “discipleship”?

This workshop is ideal for a church interested in beginning a process of lay mobilization.


Elders and Spiritual Leadership

Workshops for elders of a single congregation or group of congregations can be tailored to meet specific learning needs. Learning components of spiritual leadership through the example of Nehemiah; understanding how to reach and work with inactive members; growing Spiritual maturity; understanding the relationship of elder to Pastor; looking at New Testament standards for Christian leadership can all be part of a growth experience for elders. This workshop can be done in a ½ day to ¾ day format.


Exploring Small Group Ministry

This 2 to 3 hour workshop is for the congregation desiring to consider beginning intentional small group ministry. Principles of small group dynamics; the whys and how of small group ministry; benefits of beginning small groups; pitfalls to avoid; and how to birth new small groups; are all part of the learning design for this experience.


Becoming Outreached Focused Small Groups

This workshop is designed to help the church with existing small groups learn how to develop an evangelistic approach to their small group ministry. Topics examined include: orienting the culture of your small groups toward outreach; when someone new joins your group; starting seeker focused small groups; distinctives of seeker focused small groups; and bringing new believers to your church through small groups. Appropriate participants for this workshop are all current small groups members.


Guiding Churches through Godly Change

This workshop is designed for congregations or groups of leaders who want to explore how to manage change in a healthy way. Looking at everything from how Scripture and Jesus addressed the issue of change to understanding Everett Roger’s Diffusion of Innovations, this workshop can help pastors and congregational leaders anticipate and address change issues in positive ways including learning to use a process of 8 Steps for Creating Major Change and Living to Tell About It.



Vision for Ministry

Ideal for a leader's workshop or retreat, this workshop help congregational leaders gain a new understanding of the place of Vision in the life of that congregation.  A study of Nehemiah's vision, a comparative study of Vision and Mission, and first steps toward discerning God's vision for the congregation are included.  This is a ½ day to ¾ day format.
