The Mission and Ministry Facilitators of the Texas District serve all congregations, called professional workers, and lay leaders in a particular region of the Texas District, assisting them to live out a mission orientation as they carry out their ministry.

Bible Study - The Teaching of the Christ- is a 4 session study of the Teachings of Jesus first used in an adult VBS of 90 adults at Faith Lutheran Church, Georgetown, Texas in June, 2004. Each 2 hour session has a student guide and a leaders guide. Sessions include: "The Surprising Beatitudes: A Christian's Character"; "The Unexpected Nature of the Kingdom of God" (Matthew 13:1-52); "The Shepherding Love of Christ" (Psalm 23; John 10); "The Amazing Commission for Service" (Mark 1:15-20; 2:13-17; 3:13-19; 6:6-13, 30-34). A follow up to the movie, "The Passion of the Christ."
Bible Study - 10 Lessons in Discipleship from Simon Peter - This study looks into various vignettes in Peter's life as if we could interview him to hear in his own words how Jesus grew him as a disciple. In each lesson, learners look to see how God is growing them as disciples in similar ways. Appropriate for High School students through adults. Can be done in a one hour session. 10 lessons include: He chose me; He named me; He teamed us up; He motivated me; He taught me; He trusted me; He tested me; He selected me; He allowed me to fail; He did great things through me.
Evangelism/Church Planting - Create a Church in 30 Days? This challenging piece by C. Michael Johnson of Breakthroughchurch.com allows a group to think through how God could use them to create a viable congregation in 30 days. The article forces participants to think missionally as it they boil down the essentials to think about what a thriving congregation could be. This article would be valuable for leaders, elders, church planting groups and evangelism teams.
Stewardship - The Puzzle of Life - Colossians 1:17 says He is before all things and in Him all things hold together." This is a complete Stewardship Program which could be used for a fall Stewardship Emphasis. Includes pledge forms and Biblical Stewardship Education materials. Each household gets a puzzle piece (which is a giant photo of your church cut into pieces. As pledges come in, they are put in place to carry out the ministry of Christ who holds together all things.
