Dr. Louis C. Jander

Texas District Staff of The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod

 

Dr. Jander was born and raised near Houston , Texas .  He attended Lutheran Elementary School in Houston (St. Mark),  Concordia High School in Austin , Texas , Concordia Junior College in Austin , Concordia Teachers College in Seward , Nebraska , graduating in 1966 with a B.S. in Education.  He completed his Master's Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, Florida in 1972 and his Doctorate in Adult Education in the summer of 2001.

 

Lou has served as principal, DCE, camp director, retreat center program director, District education and youth executive, in National office of the LCMS as Director of Adult and Leadership Ministry before assuming his present position in November of 1997 in the Texas District.  He and his wife, Martha (teaches first grade at St. Mark), have five grown children (four married) and five grandchildren.

 

Over the years, Lou has served as a member of district youth committees, circuit youth facilitator, a member of the district and national evangelism committees, and various other boards and committees.  He has been a speaker, presenter and workshop leader in various areas: youth leadership, youth ministry, parenting, teacher training, congregational planning, family ministry, adult education,  and leadership development.  He has also written many articles related to different areas of congregational ministry.

 

While being heavily involved in congregation, district, and national activities, Lou still tries to find time to enjoy the outdoors by golfing, fishing, and hunting.
